Trapped in the ria de Vigo

Used to teach dinghy sail and crew weight balance as a nimble kid, by manoeuvring the boat without the rudder shipped.. which worked.. Mostly😳

Wansey and his rudderless craft could be the future .

Escape from the Pelagics! A bold film of derring do and swashbuckling high jinks.
There is a Catalan Catamaran class which is rudder less.
I did not know Orcas were a problem in Catalognia.

There has been no mention of the Orcas entering the ria ands ice the German yacht was disabled no further mention has been made of those pesky killers
Apart from that the Rias are quite safe and Spanish yachtsmen seem to have a grasp of the roots of the road.I won’t be afloat for a while so no immediate danger!…..German yacht savagedby orcas ashore in Vigo
Off topic I know… but is that rudder painted bright orange? And if so was that to deter said Orcas? It clearly isn’t an effective tactic if so.

Yes,except the islands are across it giving a narrow entrance tothe north and a wide entrance to the south
Would be nice nipping out for day sails to the Islas Cies. Only 8 miles or so from Vigo. I think you can land on the north one but the south one is a protected nature reserve.

Plenty of other nice short trips around the ria too.
