Each year I plan to take my boat to the Baltic, to spend time in the Stockholm Archipelago, and each year I fail to get it together in time. The boat in question is a 30ft twin engined planing power boat, weighing about 4 tonnes, so is too heavy to go on a trailer behind a normal car.

The dream is to find someone who is doing the same thing with a boat based in Sweden, and so fill the empty legs for the return trips, but does anyone have any experience of having done this or any recommendations?

Cross the channel, hang left, go past France and NL, and enter the Kiel Canal at Cuxhaven (mouth of the river Elbe)..... nice slow journey up the canal and exit next to Kiel airport... then up and and go past Copenhagen and you'll be there ... :)

....and latest when you pass Hamlets Castle (Kronborg) on your port side,
you will realize it is the wrong way to Stockholm.

On the other Hand the Archipelago of Gothenborg is also nice

:)

Thanks for the suggestions.

I had considered motoring it round, but you really need to pick a weather widow to get from s/e England to the Kiel canal, which may appear to order - or more likely won't.

Thereafter not such a problem. Width of the boat is 2.67m, so should be doable.

The total journey length is 900nm, one way, aside from the boating that I want to do when I get there, and i don't have the option to take the summer off to do this, which is why I thought I'd look around for transportation. I realise that there are loads of boats in the Stockholm archipelago, and we already have a Buster M that I can use there, but I would like to take MY boat there, hence the question.

If u intend to do it a few times buy a trailer artic have it converted for your boat then pay to hav I taken to ferry then get haulier to collect from ferry leave trailer in Sweden ready for returns the world is at your feet
