Transport costs

Hi All

Anyone got a rough ballpark figure for transport costs ( specialist low loader)
It would be to move a 12m x3.9m mobo across country...........about 250miles

Just trying to get an idea, as to how much I would need to allow in the budget!

Almost impossible to give an accurate figure as it depends on many factors such as route and access either end.

Simplest thing for you to do is get quotes from some of the many firms who specialise in this work. You will probably find they vary considerably depending on where they are located, type of vehicle and whether they can offer a return load price. I used www.boat-shift.com who were the most competitive at the time (earlier this year).

Nowhere near that! I paid £4250 from Sant Carles in Spain to Poole for a similar sized boat. I would think somewher £1-2k, but as I said prices can vary as much as 50%. You also need to consider cranage costs either end and preparing the boat for transport. Also with your size boat height may be a problem, limiting the type of road you can use. I found it really easy to get quotes as it is a very competitive business and room for haggling!

probably much less than that, but how much less depends on many factors as Tranona has said.
