We are due to arrive Igoumenitsa on the morning of Saturday 28/4, we have just found out from Aktio boat yard that no buses run on a Saturday. Any suggestions or contact details of reasonable taxi firms would be much appreciated
Many thanks

We booked a one way car hire last year, very reasonable. Make sure it is a company with an office in Igoumenitsa though, otherwise there is a delivery charge to the port. Meant we had plenty of time to shop at Lidl and stock up with food and drink for the longterm. Savings on the wine covered the cost of the car hire!!

Thank you, have now found the details of the company from a search - seems a very reasonable price

A worgd of caution - frequently in the small print, if ordered on line is an additional charge of aprox. 80 euros for one way hire from Igouminitsa to Levkas) payable locally in addition to the normal online hire charge. Not always but it is woth checking terms and conditions small print.

Just done Preveza to Igo one way with avis. 80 euros. Avis (and Europcar) offices are close to the police station at the north end of the harbour. Taxis will set you back over 100 euros and a nervous breakdown!

Thank you, got a quote from Camilla at Europcar which was around the same price. Just for my info are Avis and Europ car one and the same.

Acording to a web link sent to me by Camilla some days ago which shows the bus tuimetable from Iggy to Lefkas there are buses on Saturday and Sunday leaving at 16.15.
Here's the link. Right click to get it translated by Bing : http://www.ktel-thesprotias.gr/?module=default&pages_id=17&lang=el
Buses also on Tuesday and Friday at 11.30.
If you find out anything different please let me know. As we arrive Corfu on Sat May 26 and need to get to Aktio as well.

I didn't know that KTEL had on line schedules. I clicked on this one, but I was more interested in checking the times from Athens to Levkada, and I couldn't work out how to change the starting point of Iggy. Any ideas?

Corfu to Preveza

"someone was looking to do Corfu Prev on the 26th, looks like there are seats still available on the 10 am flight out of Corfu".

Yes, that was me. Thanks for the research but the internal flight leaves Corfu one hour before our easyJet arrives.

Thanks
Colin

Thanks for all the info, in Preveza now, got a high car for 75 euros one way. Looking forward to lift in tomorrow

Glad you made it! Now all you need to do is to pay the €9 launching tax - go to the tax office for .88Cents stamp, pay the harbour dues for one day and leave.

I hope the whole of greece hasn't suddenly woken up to the excess of beaurocracy..... It's been so simple in the past - hope my single stamp on my DEKPA from last year is not going to cause a problem!

Done all the paperwork now, it does seem a lot of hassle and time consuming for the officials, let alone us. I had 3 stamps last year and did not seem interested in it one way or another. Tied up at Preveza quay to get stores and sort boat out. Looking forward to the season ahead now

Taxi

This information is all very useful

I was going to do the 100 euro taxi but will now consider the car hire option.

Is there any news about the new Greek cruising tax being implemented???
