Can any-one advise on the size of hole a Stowe through hull depth transducer makes? Mine has given up the ghost and need to replace with something a bit newer. I'm assuming that the transducer and cockpit repeater are now both defunct.

I recently got a new transducer for my Stowe Log from Alan Williams of AWMarine at Haslar Marina, Gosport - Tel: 023 9250 1207 or http://www.awmarine.com.

The problem with changing equipment is that there is nothing else the same size as the Stowe Transducer so a change means coming out of the water for fibreglass work. I got a new transducer for the Stowe as an interim measure with the intent of upgrading all my instrumentation next time the boat comes out

Good Luck

I replaced some 20 odd year old Brooks and Gatehouse gear (depth and log) with Raytheon ST60 stuff last year, - one was a perfect fit into the existing hole, the other just needed a shave. You may find that there isn't much difference - possibly that your stowe gear is imperial.

Bronze transducer 47mm dia X 30mm deep with 18mm dia threaded stem.
Plastic transducer skin fitting type 45mm dia thread. Max hull thickness 40mm.
(from Navsounder Manual circa 1988)

Many thanks to all who replied. As boat is out of the water, will remove the old transducer and see if I can upgrade to something similar (poss Simrad) in size.
