I recently completed a 'DELIVERY' of a Beneteau Oceanis 320 from St Martin in the
Caribbean to England. I have since heard of a report in one of the magazines of a
Biscay Crossing in which she is labeled a bad sea boat. Anyone out there know where I could find out about this as in 47 days of varied conditions she perfomed superbly. Anyone interested in details of 'DELIVERY' contact me at

Hi The boat you heard about may have been the 39?She was lost and a crewman died.Apparently left Spain in a Force 9 forecast. rolled I think. The outcome of the inquiry led the RYA to include some thoughts on stability into thrir syllabus.reading between the lines I gather the boat was not suitable for ocean passage making I have the extract from MAIB in front of me.An Oceanis(ocean-anus!)390 "Ocean Madam",Bay of Biscay 1997,knocked down and inverted!! On of the 4 recommendations reads as follows..."alert yachtsmen to the fundamentals of ...stability so owners and skippers are better informed to make judgements regarding the suitability of their craft for given weather and sea conditions"I was just wondering if you had any idea of the stability curve befire you took the "Queens shilling"Bet it was good fun regardless.Congrats.
