Training for a liveaboard’s life

Dare I ask why you needed Kleenex in the middle of the night?;)

You may.

In the inner recesses of my little boat, is kept a box of them to the starboard side of the forepeak.
After doing what many over sixties men do in the middle of the night, al la heads, I noticed that the front hatch was dripping with condensation, even though the hatch was slightly ajar and at the other end, I had left one of the washboards out to give good ventilation.
I wiped the hatch and its surrounds and used about half a dozen tissues to do so.
That was when I simply opened the door to the heads and in they went. PRAT!

Why are the tissues usually there? Correct!.... it's a girly thing......best ask the 1st mate!

happy? ;-)

Based on real experience ...

If you have a dog, especially something like a labrador, take him for a walk four times a day. do not allow him to pee/poo in the garden in the meantime.

Train him to climb up and down a ladder akin to companionway steps.

Let him get wet in the rain or sea, then keep him in a confined space at home.

the new SWMBO law

Always save and rinse then dry on the galley taps your Ziplock bags as they are good for many times not just once and you never know when you will find that size again.

When you want to go shopping you must have at least 2 back up shops in mind for every item that you require as you can not be sure they will have you food requirements in just 1 shop or store.

See above- The same for all boat parts.
