Hello All

I am hoping someone can help me to find a good (and flexible) trainer to spend some time doing the equivalent of the Day Skipper Theory chartwork but using Bristol Channel charts and tide tables.

As background, we have just ordered a 35' cruiser with a 150HP engine and this will be delievered in Mar09 after it has been used at the NEC boatshow in Feb. We will be keeping the boat at Tewkesbury for the first season at least but eventually hope to venture further afield than just the R.Severn.

Its seems a good idea to get some relevant training during the winter months while waiting for delivery. I did my Day Skipper theory some years ago but would not like to gamble on any of it sticking due to my ever increasing senior moments but would like to use what I can remember to focus on more specific chart work. I guess a VHF course etc could also be completed.

Any thoughts on my timing (is it too soon?) and suggestions for possible teachers would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Tony
