I have a Hurley Silhouette 17.3 feet bilge keeler
I live in Worthing (south england)
I am looking to buy rent or borrow a trailer suited to this boat
also I would like to buy a second hand 5-8 hp outboard (longshaft)

suggest you may be over-egging it with 5-8hp for that size of boat.

i ran sonatas (23 ft, 1.1 ton) successfully with 4 & 5 hp motors and never felt under-powered.
