Good morning all...

A bit of simple but seemingly challenging request for help if I may..

I have only a single key for my aluminium entrance doors and have been trying to have some keys cut. So far no locksmith nor online company (which claims to match most keys) have been able to match it. It seems the boat's Taiwan origin goes as far as the locks which one locksmith identified from pics.

Anyway, any thoughts on where I can get keys cut?

I considered a replacement lock but the lock unit is pretty unusual too so that may cause just as many headaches.

As ever, thoughts are appreciated.

Nick

i did once get boat door keys done as a special order from Timpsons - took weeks for the blanks to arrive, though.

I also got boat engine keys from somewhere near Camden that was pretty specialist - may have been here:

We had the same problem on our previous boat (Trader 42) and never did find a suitable blank. Just had to be very careful with the one key. Fortunately we have two keys for the aft deck door on the 54 but only one for the side deck door. Please let us know if you find a suitable blank supplier. Good luck.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Do you have the unusual 'antique' looking key on the side door like I have? Looks like a mini castle door key. :D
I'm speaking to a company in London that sound confident. I'll let you know if I get success with them.

Exactly although our side door is stainless rather than ally. It`s b heavy. Will certainly be interested in the results of your search. Many thanks.
