Out and about last week we found some distinctly dodgy satellite reception - coming out of Puerto Solente last Wednesday afternoon we had no reception on either the main plotter or the handheld for about 30 minutes. I suspect the RN had zapped me with their jamming devices 
Anyway, it seemed a good moment to switch off the technology and put in a bit of practice with the pencil and paper, which reminded me of how long it was since the last time that I'd actually taken bearings and put marks on my charts.
We arrived home without mishap.
