In the 1960's Fairey Marine advertisements for the Huntsman 28 suggested that the Dinky and Duckling could be towed at 20 knots.
Well, he would have been had that happened to him.Fascinating,so harry went to France in 1064 we never learn about that in school …….he must have been miffed getting an arrow in his eye
Well he would have been more upset then,Well, he would have been had that happened to him.
There is some debate as to which character is Harold. The frame following the one showing the fella with an eyeful of arrow shows a chap being hacked at with a sword, all of which is below the legend “Hic Harold Rex interfectus est” (here King Harold is killed). It could apply to either of the characters, and there is solid evidence that the arrow was added during repairs in the 18th / 19th century, as it does not appear in an engraving that was made in 1729. Most opinion now seems to lean towards him being the chap being hacked to pieces.

That seems to settle it then. I got the bit about the wind being full but the identity was not included. I’ve got the souvenir folded-up print of the tapestry somewhere in the house, if only I could find it.
