Nice area for boating too.Hmmmm
Seems just the right timing for my Empuriabrava plug
Lots of stuff to do if it blows up and also you can get your S23 under the bridges.

Do you go to Islas Medas West of the bay? Great rock tunnel to go through on the way. Assume you would need to do it in your tender, and the snorkelling off Medas is greatI was staying in Camping Nautic Almata in the center of the bay. Had 20ft Mariah bowrider with me. Did not venture past Montjoi, as would be a very tough drive back in a bowrider in the afternoon against the mistral![]()
Probably wise but the wind almost always comes from the north so coming home (South) is usually smooth.......but note my use of “almost always” and “usually”.I was staying in Camping Nautic Almata in the center of the bay. Yes, lunch at La Escala (La Clota restaurant next to the marina) and the afternoon on the Medas (free buoys on the south side) I’ve seen some huge groopers there.Do you go to Islas Medas West of the bay? hmm interesting, I always seemed to get South / South Easterly's when there.Probably wise but the wind almost always comes from the north so coming home (South) is usually smooth.......but note my use of “almost always” and “usually”.
Last year (actually the year before) I got caught out and decided to turn the other way and spend the night in Llanca marina to escape the quite rough chop. We love Llanca by the way
All food for thought ?hmm interesting, I always seemed to get South / South Easterly's when there.![]()
I think we hijacked the post - sorry folks
Here is a sheltered bay very near to L'Escala in January last year which is near where I keep my boat:-Picking up on the weather warnings in Med would it be better to stick to Spain Costa's.

Those cliffs are seriously high as well. Are you in Estatit? Some great restaurants there.

4 knots if inside the area marked off by the yellow buoys.Yes that’s it. You can see Cap de Creus in the distance.
There is a speed limit as you pass it....not sure what it is but we got pulled over and ticked off.
Nice video. I’m always amazed how high those things can go and still remain in contact. That inflatable with a sail looks fun. There was a company long gone who were famous for them, I can’t remember the name. Was it Tinkle Tramp or something like that?Ahh - Cap de Creus
That brings back memories.
Very early drone footage in this video - contrast all wrong.
Close, Tinker TrampNice video. I’m always amazed how high those things can go and still remain in contact. That inflatable with a sail looks fun. There was a company long gone who were famous for them, I can’t remember the name. Was it Tinkle Tramp or something like that?
