As a sailor, my head often gets exposed to the elements. I do'nt particularly like hats cos I find it difficult to find one to complement my innate elegance so have rather reluctantly come to the conclusion that the only real way forward, as I get older and tonsurelly enhanced, is to acquire a wig to oneself from elements. Any recommendations?

You can save the cost of a wig by simply growing your eyebrows long and combing them back. You may still need some sort of fixing method for running downwind because it looks a little peculiar when your eyebrows stream forward.

Well actually, Donnie Whaurshistroosers, I wiz thinking alang ra copydex and wool lines . whit dae ye think? maybe ra caravanners may shed some insite (sic)!

I have a young Scottish friend who wears a dead sheep on his head, turned inside out. If you were to acquire a similar object (usually found in the reduced bin, at Woollies), but were to invert it and restore the woolly bit to the outside I'm sure it would be efficacious wiggery.

It would, of course, make you look white headed but, hey, it works for Tom Cunliffe.

One precaution. Don't hang about in the vicinity of Welshmen.

This one might insulate you sufficiently

Woolies also sell very cheap black marker pens, so with a little application onto the now inverted wooly attire you could be a distinguished gent with a full head of the curly stuff if you preferred....

I'd be very careful of the Red pen however...... i believe salt spray turns it sort of bright orange, and that'd never do would it......

Well, you could always use the indelible pen to draw little rabbits all over your heed,
