Torquay to Weymouth

Decided to make a run for Weymouth today,after checking weather forecast for next few days, had been booked to stay another couple of nights in Torquay , quick check of almanac re tidal streams and best time's for arriving at Portland bill,realised left it a bit late, but as it being neap's reconned that would not be any problem, wind from west,tidal stream going east, left as soon as rain stopped, good crossing ,big swell ,boat handles it with ease, rounded the bill close better conditions than could have hoped for, got into Weymouth decided to refuel ready for dash tomorrow , the chap operating feul pump overfilled one tank so much that diesel soaked half the aft cockpit, and side covers, he apologised and left us to clear up, thought had done a good job,but still smells of diesel any tips for getting rid of smell,washed down with fairy and washing powder,

Pleased you had a safe trip, I think our impending weather will soon wash away the last of the diesel.....

Forecast today looks good, wind dropped off, trouble is the diesel was spilt inside , plan to be back in the Solent this afternoon

Reckon that's a good move. Forecast for tomorrow looks awful! Safest tucked up on that hammer head watching the rain fall from the lifeboat?!

Isn't some chemical fuel dispersant you can get??? Sure someone told me about it when I did something similar on the rib!? Will try and remember it.

Use some of the wife's cushions to soak the diesel up she won't miss one or two .

Ha Ha more than my life's worth,
