Torquay to Plymouth in lovely conditions, able to run WOT across Torbay and around Berry Head.

Stayed in Sutton Harbour, Plymouth so SWMBO could get a direct train into London.

Set off to Falmouth today, but 2m waves too much for a 40 mile run, so turned back. Good customer service from Princess who noticed we were in and offered a free berth for the weekend.

Had a quiet day in the Yealm, lovely spot. Intraventure is the white blob just to the right of centre at the top of the photo.

Hope to get a little further west before we turn for home.

VERY nice artistic photos K. You bought a big Nikon, AppleMac, Photoshop and some lessons from Lord Snowdon, or what? :D :D

Seriously, how did you do #3? B+W but red ensign ???

Indeed some quite stunning shots there, a real mixed back of photographic talent, well done.

I think Scubaman may be under a little pressure as king of the clickers. :-)

Darn, seems I have to give the game away.

The regular square shape photos are from a Panasonic Lumix TZ10, the one with GPS. A £300 camera. They were sharpened and resized in Photoscape, a free PC program.

Believe it or not the dramatic pictures are from an iPhone 4. Not the built-in camera app, but one called Pano. It let's you take a series of shots, helps line them up with a slight ghost of the previous one, then stitches them together, correcting the exposure as it goes.

Next import the Pano picture into another app, Color Splash, which let's you do the Photoshop like bit of changing to B&W and then paint back colour where you want it.

Finally upload from phone to Photobucket with the iPhone app.

Great pics, well done for getting to Plymouth, if you're still there then this is good:

... and this is fun and near your boat:

Where next?

Cheers
Jimmy

We almost went to Tanners (we did the distillery tour), but as we've eaten out every day we decided to go wild and do steaks on the boat and play some family games, like the olden times.

Left Plymouth when the forecasts looked better than expected, to stop in the Yealm for lunch. Backed out when we could see the bar was already drying, thought we'd an hour in hand, but in a big swell didn't want to risk it.

Carried on to Salcombe and got over the bar at low water by staying close in to the rocks, bit nerve jangling, but safely moored right in front of the town.

Eating at Dick&Wills tonight.

Will post photos tomorrow.

Great photo's, reminds me of our first cruise this summer, much the same itinerary.

We had the luxury of flat sea's and endless sunshine (second two weeks in June), canopies off for the whole fortnight!

Torquay-Salcombe, moored on the new Visitors pontoon in 'The Bag', only 4 boats including us.
Salcombe down to Plymouth, stayed at QAB (MDL berthholder night), we too did the Plymouth Gin tour, excellent cocktail lounge/bar and the nightlife for a Tuesday was unbelievable.

Plymouth back to Dartmouth, managed to get on the Town side visitors pontoons, excellent real ales in the cherub.

Dartmouth to Brixham for a night, then back to Torquay ready for the weekend!

Will add some pictures soon.

Best spot in Dartmouth is the town quay, Floaty thingy. Never missed finding a place, but do arrive soon enough. It's cheap and on the door step. Water and electricery stuff.

Been hundreds of times, dont think we ever got past the chip shop, Mind we do preffer to eat on the boat,

Lovely pics indeed. Even more impressive considering the equipment.
The red ensign is a great subject against a B/W landscape.
I hope you don't mind if I played with that a little bit... :)

You've improved the contrast, tweaking levels? Nice improvement.

.

For info. to Salcombe virgins, it is ok to cross the Bar at LW Springs if you keep to Port of the Leading Line and provided you haven't got a draught of above about 1.5m. The other critical factor in this is that there should be no significant swell.

Indeed, I just quietly moved my pics from this weekend into archive :)

There have been quite a few posts on here recently with very beautiful and high quality shots.

Great arty looking shots! It's amazing that you can do all that in iPhone.

Curiously in pic #4 the horizon seems to bend a bit just left of the centre of the picture and yet the exposure changes slightly just right of the centerline. So I'm assuming that at least three shots went into this.

I can see the slight ghosts in the last pic but overall the quality looks amazing.

Did you do something to the tint as well?

You've improved the contrast, tweaking levels? Nice improvement.
Yep, but not using just levels: contrast masking is much more effective in this respect.
A tad more complicated if you never tried it, but actually easier done than said. Details here, if u r interested.

Did you do something to the tint as well?
Nope, the brighter red also comes courtesy of contrast masking.
The only other thing I did was "cleaning" a white mark and the stiches (at least, what seemed to be stitches) on the flag.
