Purchased June 2017
Intermittent fault codes E30 and E32
Engine will not run with fault codes
Also OFF switch lazy
Has anyone had similar issues?
(Manufacturer only acknowledges e mail but will not reply)

Haven't had any problems with mine, bought 2014. I'd be tempted just to reject it and return it to the retailer as being not of merchantable quality. Alternatively, Torqeedo has a good network of warranty repair centres.

The error codes refer to the motor and tiller communications. Check the cable for correct fitting and that there's no damage to the cable.

E30 Motor communication error. Check the motor cable’s plug-in connection. Check the motor cable for damage.


E32 Tiller communication error. Check the tiller‘s plug-in connections. Check the cable.

I took the Engine to a Torqeedo sales office and we could replicate the E32 error and the lazy OFF switch whilst I was there.
(Could not replicate E30 on the day)
When the engine was sent to their technician he could not find any faults.
Hence my query to see if anyone else has issues.

We had this from time to time until I realised how easy it is to cross thread the connections and also applied a dash of that (AC70?) aircraft spray stuff to the contacts. No issues since.

Unplugging both cables and reinserting usually clears the codes.

Yes I had it a couple of times, as others say a spray of the electrical contacts spray sorted it (for me anyway). Normally have to do it a couple of times over 5-6 months.
Had a similar issue with the anchor control, again the contact spray did the job.

Make sure the plugs are inserted straight into the sockets before screwing them tight. if it does not turn easy then the plugs are not inserted correctly. Contact spray only needed after a few month.
