An inexpensive/easy/practical way to mount your tablet at the helm - leaving both hands free.

Ordered! You have any means of charging it back there?

No. But battery life of the tablet is pretty good. +8hrs

I use 3M Dual-lock velcro on the iPad and stick it directly onto the cockpit bulkhead in my Contessa, makes for easy viewing at the helm and very secure in it's lifeproof case.

There's more than one way to skin a cat. ;)
In our case, the bulkhead is too far away from the helm. Tablet is already waterproof.

our boat is (maybe) slightly unusual in that we have perspex washboards so we have a swivelling plywood mount just inside the companionway (in a lifeproof case) where I can reach it with a charging lead and it can get some additional protection (from the washboards) if the weather is atrocious.

I just need to put a ram mount on the back so we can move it to "a.n.other) location in the shade when the sun is shining directly on the back of it - otherwise overall it is a great solution - the ram mounts are a tad expensive but then you can get a whole host of different fittings (suckers, clamps etc).
