Suggestions invited for nominating a supplier of Cutlass bearings.
In particular, mine is for a Jeanneau 35, and is a 25mm ID.

Anyone any decent contacts for this item?

Have used Vesconite for all the bearings and bushes on my new L50, prop shaft & rudder.

Best plastic bearing material I have used even when I was working as a design engineer in the UK

Another vote for Vesconite. Especially if you have access to a lathe so you can machine one yourself. They do a design manual which has all the info you need on tolerances, clearances etc. And if you look on the Vesconite website you'll be amazed at the aggressive environments that Vesconite bearings can operate in.

now that jeanneau is part of the bene empire i suspect that it is the same one that is fitted to my bene 351, a rubber bush that looks like a top hat with grooves, allegedly made by volvo penta to suit the volvo seal on the inside. 2 plastic 6 mm screws on each side of the cutlass bit hold it in. available from any bene dealer for anything from £14 upwards!!
