Last summer they filmed for 6 hours around the Princess office , two presenters and a host of sound men and camera crew utity tough guys, not to mention a motor home for Matt.

All they did was drive a people carrier around the toilet block.

Last night they showed the car/boat and swanwicks princess in the background for 20 sec...........Expensive day.

"My" clip was much better value. They got free use of a new Sq78 for the day :D:D:D:D:D

I'm considering a programme called" lots of gear, no idea" where the presenters will race a Fiat 500 against a Panda...coincidentally Antibes is a consideration....we may need a chase boat......any ideas as to where we can charter a Punt?

They were also at the Chandlery barge the same day , apparently I mused then by 5 mins. Some pics on my FB page appeared as one of my friends works there, she had a selfie with Matt LB.

Hertz and Avis at Nice airport have plenty of rental Puntos; choice of colour :D

I was wondering how much they spent on the ssangyacht. I bet they got no change from £80k. The whole piece was probably more like £150k with transportation and filming cost. It was good fun but a vw camper, triumph herald and hilux was way better. Second time they did it was genius!!

Top gear is defo improved with Chris gone and some of the features have been good but I still fast forward all the studio pieces as the dynamic between them is just not there.

I'd best describe it as Wooden .

Do I remember rightly that JFM put the electronic helm controls on "downstairs only" mode and just let the Ape think he was driving? :D

Pete
No, he drove most of the time but Nick Barke and I were at lower helm and whenever JC looked like he was going too fast/close to other boats (it was busy st trop harbour) we hot swapped and took throttles at lower helm. Cat/ZF controls allow hot swap if you know how; you don't have to drop into neutral. Obviously JC didn't know how to hot swap so he was at our mercy on this one. By my reckoning we saved two lives by hotswapping :D:D

I have it on very good authority that JC is one of the worlds worst drivers. Can we add helming to his credentials?
