both worked pretty well for me




the sikaflex has had a tough time, lots of waves and quite a few groundings - plus two months on a drying pontoon on soft mud in Chichester harbour which is as tough on keels as you can get

the antifoul has done well - of course the boat has moved a lot through lots of different water qualities but it has exceeded my expectations. gave it the odd scrub of the bits I could reach and expected that there would be some pretty impressive fronds on the bits I could not reach....but the hull was pretty clean .... I would/will buy the same jollop again

I have used Toolstations anti foul for the last 4 years on a 31' yacht. The results have generally been the same as more expensive anti foul and sometimes better!

The cost savings are brilliant.
 
Gaelforces labeled product is by same manufacturer and usually is several pounds cheaper.As the two stores are 10 mins apart in Inverness I usually go for the cheaper of the two.
 
Dylan, I'd imagine the reason it didn't perform so well on the rudder is it gets more sunlight that any other part of the boat. Sea weed and the like photosynthesise as well I believe. Certainly does on our transom hung rudder that's for sure!

correct

we only averaged 4.1 knots over the 600 miles from Littlehampton to Anstruther which I am sure is a terrible performance

however, no-one bought a Centaur for its performance

although I was surprised at how well she sails if you pay some attanetion to sail trim

I assume that many of the owners are not hot on sail trimming judging by the shape of the sails I see on many of my fellow Centaur sailors.

I am really pleased with the boat and will be sad to see it go
