Tools for cutting fibreglass

Jigsaw with a metal blade gives me a clean cut at work, eats the blades though  but as i dont need to cut a lot its fine for me:D

I've had great success with a carborundum coated jig saw blade.
Available from Fibeglass suppliers not expensive and does not wear out.
Best to cover the FG with making tape or similar to prevent dirty marks if you are working on a finish surface,.

Router with good carbide tipped bits and a little surface polish on the tools to stop any build up of debris.

Generally any of the above PLUS a vacuum cleaner to get rid of the fibreglass dust that will be generated.

If you get fibreglass fibres on your skin it will itch like hell.

Have a COLD shower and slide a cake of soap over the affected areas. Discard soap after.

Do not have a HOT shower as this will open the pores in your skin and allow the fibreglass fibres to penetrate deeper.

From one who has learnt the hard way.
