a hearty thanks to all the posts regarding the good and the bad about honing our precious chisels and the like to the peak of operational perfection
after reading loads of threads, some old some new, I set about my chisels, finishing them off on a lovely old proper wetstone inherited from my grandad
the results were superb, slicing through oak like butter, and I can't wait to use them in earnest
so good were the results in fact that unfortunately I'll now have wait a couple of weeks until the are taken stitches taken out!
