Although it is interesting that one mans life threatening storm is another man's brisk breeze.

So I guess that unit18 should not be encouraged to take on the elements. Far better to let him get cought out in a nasty one by mistake like the rest of us.

Then, provided he takes a rational approach to his survival, and doesn't go into "never again" mode - he will have exited woosidom.

Astrid made this video during the storm in early November, when we were on our way to Bermuda. She was in the companionway with her camera. I was standing behind her, trying to hold her upright. The 'Sea Scout' is hove to, with the storm jib aback and the tiller lashed to leeward. It lasted 48 hours.

See, this is why I asked the question, they obviously thought it a teensy bit lumpy.

The hail storm and thunder and lightning at about 5.00 in North Fambridge had my bum cheeks quivering!! The lightning hit a bank about 500 yds away! eek!

Hmm. Alwaysfound photo's and film a lot more understated than reality. Also apparently it was after the worst was over according to the blog.

You can see the tops of breakers; I imagine that it would look a lot more impressive facing into the waves. He's obviously hove to, whether out of neccessity, or just for a break I don't know.
