The old Raytheon 390 GPS used to talk to the Laptop, the Autopilot and the Radar until it decided that it had had enough and went to the great coordinates in the sky.
The Kelvin Hughes radio is also getting tired and is not DSC whatevered (enabled?)
The Garmin 76 I bought works a treat and talks to the laptop and is powered from the boat's system (ships batteries sounds a bit industrial to me)
I got the dedicated wires so it just plugs in and goes and its very simple and I don't like messing with things that work fine
I thought I might get a DSC radio this winter
Should I get another GPS unit and wire it to the radio, GPS and radar or is this OTT?
