We are at the start of our hols and popped over to Maldon yesterday to get some *essential* chandlery and decided to stop in Tollesbury Sailing Club.
Very welcoming, seats 50 to dine if necessary (Laying Down Supper?), active club with lots of members, and decent ale.
70 quid for membership and a big big improvement on the hobby bistro/bar in Tollesbury Marina.

I commend it to the House.

They're very good over there, have had some social chats with their GP14 sailors (being ex-GP14 sailors ourselves) and been tempted to join up but never got round to it.

We're disappointed with the changes at Tollesbury Marina bar, it would cost us as a family of 4 around £80 each time we ate there which is just infeasible if we're down for a while. We need a standby selection of decent but basic grub for £8-10 a head, not goumet dining for twice that all the time.

As a member, there is food available most Fridays. Only one choice but very good value. You sign up for the club newsletter email, which gives details of the food available for the coming Friday, and a contact number to book.
