Hello,
We wondered what the WiFi was like at Tollesbury. If we plan to visit anywhere my 8 year old is always curious if he will be able to watch you tube. Understand it has an access code to avoid misuse which is cool.

Cheers, Colin.

Kids make me laugh, last year took the grand kids away for a week and they sucked £45.00 out if cyberspace at my expence.

I do feel sad for you....
Your ypung lad has the chance for which many children would chew their arm off ...

Yuu toob?

Its a fair trade he spots a lobster pot long before I do under way and he knows all the knots I do so within reson its win-win

Happy days, Colin.

Our children had to get all their fun at Tollesbury struggling up the mud from the mooring because we were too mean to pay for going into the marina. There was supposed to be a hard, made of sandbags, but we called it the "soft". We then marched them into town while I bought my paper, and if they were lucky they might get fish & chips at the pub in the evening before squelching back down to the dinghy through even more mud.

We spent a week in Tollesbury earlier this summer. The marina wi-fi there was easily the best we came across. Streaming of the Ashes Test was pretty reliable.

Other attractions of Tollesbury Marina include the swimming pool and tennis courts. Don't forget trunks and racquets.

Thats just what I was hoping for its been some time since we were treated to the Tollesbury mud too, many fond stories that my kids will not want to be reminded of ha ha
I wonder if there is a waiting list for permanent berths?

Thanks for the info, Cheers, Colin

Great place to keep a boat.

With 4 of my own aged from 26 to 16, I failed dismally in getting them sailing. As my wife dislikes the water i didn't force them to come, they tried it and then it was their choice. A couple came for a few years then got new interests.

If this lad wants to go sailing and watch a bit of you tube as well, why not?

Time moves on, children today have many more choices to make about entertainment.

We spent a few days wind bound (Matron) here a few weeks ago, thoroughly good place to stay.

'Harbourmaster' and staff very helpful, good Wi Fi, excellent food and beer there are much worse places to be wind bound.

Eh .... you were lucky.

Before my Dad would step ashore, we 'ad to lick the landing clean wi' our tongues.

Tell that to kids of today, and they won't believe yer!

(etc........sorry, someone's going to say it, might as well be moi)

Being less silly......

Joscelyn and I picked up a spare mooring in the Leavings for a night last month (thanks to the owners of 'Rhumba'), just near the hard.

We found it (ie the sandbag hard) not too bad, even carrying the dinghy at LW to above the HW line.

A beautiful spot.
