I think the time has come to service the loo (a Jabsco 59128-0000 1980 Toilet). No avoiding it as i have water leaking back into the bowl. However i'm struggling to find the service kit as Jabsco no longer make them - so if anyone has a source for old kits that would be great.

Alternatively does anybody have experience in servicing these and will a clean be sufficient or are there any 'tricks' to servicing without kits.

The service kit is about £30, and a new pump is about £60 .... I've bought a few service kits that havent worked very well so bought a new pump for one of our loos.... that's what I'll be doing in the future.

there is a thread somewhere about how bad Jabsco service kits are.

Hopefully the new pumps will fit your loo.

I think that I paid about £45 for our last pump...... a lot easier just to buy the pump than muck about with the service kit...... They have a new one out that locks th pump down in the closed position as well, to stop the syphoning..

But get some advice from the real Bog-Master, Haydn..... aka HLB.... he seems to have the subject well covered.....or was it that he was well covered by the subject??

will be replacing complete unit,

[/ QUOTE ] Replace it with a Lavac if thats possible and the budget can be stretched a bit. You will not regret it.

But look at the fitting instructions on the Blake Taylors Lavac website as the loops in the inlet and outlet pipe are crucial to its corret operation.

The swindlery here, jabsco compact £99, regular £149. Had chat with swmbo, will be replacing complete unit, as i've been given permission /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I did not need permission, I was given a direct order not to even contemplate a service kit, but to replace the whole thing.
