Toilet arrangements

Google "Kampa Khazi". 35 quid. Compact, and might save you some wood work.
The Amazon's Choice equivalent (Surprisingly huge variety of models listed) claims a capacity of 880 pounds (!?)

EDIT: But perhaps that's its load bearing capacity, as opposed to its holding capacity

American market, Y'know?

Havnt tried with a Macdonalds bag, but in SE Asia hand fouling is traditionally part of the SOP so one is fairly accoustomed.

Its not part of the SOP in Taiwan, where toilet paper is de rgeur but until very recently you werent supposed to flush it, resulting in rather unpleasant bucketfulls. Flushing paper came in maybe 2-3 years ago (for example at the university I taught at), but may not be universal.

Elsewhere hands were considered washable and toilet paper nasty in many countries, though I daresay Western Decadence is spreading.

Different strokes. But maybe not "when in (classical) Rome", since I understand they used communal sponges.
I don't suppose if HRH Charles visits your area, he will do a lot of hand shaking

Little bit of geopolitics, but an HRH visit would be very unlikely. Too busy maintaining the "special relationship", "Asskiss of Evil " stylee

Plus, as I explained in some graphic detail, the left hand wipe thing (is HRH left handed? I would assume he wasn't allowed to be, for Reasons of State) doesnt apply in Taiwan.

But perhaps you imply that I am a globetrotting multicultural Citizen Of The World and International Man Of Mystery?

Cool

It did prove to be an 'April Fool' joke, but many years ago the Inland Waterways magazine 'Waterways World' extolled the virtues of a new portable toilet called the "Chemi Karzi".

Made me laugh..........................

Going to take another look this weekend weigh up forum advice
Most of the tank type chemical toilets are very low compared to a house toilet. Before you go to measure the boat measure your toilet seat height at home.
Then if you allow for a shelf for the toilet to be on. then the Shape of the hull would not be such a problem.

Well, I would expect my sea head will need some work, as will my sea legs and my sea chest. I would also expect there would be regulatory and decency restrictions on its use, though I'm not currently sure what they are in the UK.

When I was living in my Romahome I used a little bucket (I think originally for PVA adhesive, similar available for paint...see video link) for occaisional emergencies and buried the solid product in parks.

It fitted inside the spare wheel (boss side down) which sat on the edge of the step down into the rear overhang where the sinkette and stovette were. Quite stable and comfortable.

I used a newspaper lining and put the well sealed lid on after use, to limit smells and fly access, but so sealed it grew mould quite quickly in summer, so it might be better to just use the lid for transport and apply a loose dessicant covering instead, maybe soil or leaf litter.

I would think dried pine forest litter might be particularly suitable, and should be foragable, though drying may not be convenient

Pee and toothbrush spittings went in a wide-mouthed bottle and got dumped in parks and gardens on my way to the tube station of a morning. On a short (daily) cycle, treatment other than rinsing didn't seem to be necessary.

I've done similar here in Taiwan when the post-typhoon water supply outages have prevented flushing.

TBH I dont think any of the women I know, or have known, would cope with anything even slightly unconventional or inconvenient in this area, and I doubt they would cope with a small boat either, or at least not when that small boat might be driven, at sea, by me.

Shiftin N''Struttin Stuff
Maybe a use for coffee grounds and/or tea leaves, though you'd need to be able to dry them first

Recent vid from Practical Sailor on "composting toilets" (the "dessicating" term isn't used here)

Contains the phrase "Watching people watch me walking around with a jug of pee" which the presenter found upsetting.

I found if I used an orange juice (in London) or, here in Taiwan, a tea bottle or jug, it wasnt obvious thats what it was, or not obvious enough to make me self-conscious about it anyway. What are onlookers going to do about it? Citizens arrest?

If its bothersome, a carrier bag can add an additional layer of discretion.
