Tohatsu F-N gear problem?

Hi, Has anyone had any problems engaging F or N on a 3.5 Tohatsu? Mine is playing up.

Check the shear pin. You might have lost drive and mistakenly believe that there is a problem with the lever not engaging gear. Happened to me last year.

Hi,

Yes, I have.

Changed the gearbox oil and all was OK. I suspect that water had got into the oil or the oil itself was shot.

Worth a try? A cheap fix if it works.
