Tohatsu 9.8 O/B clicking sound

Hi,
Sailing last week but with outboard switched off but left in the water, there was a clicking noise coming from it when doing over 2 knots. Is this just the one way clutch or does it need investigating?

Any advice welcomed.

I have a 15 month old Tohatsu 18 and mine makes the same sort of noise. I do not think it is anything to worry about.

Put the engine in gear, or out of gear, and it will probably stop. My Mariner used to do the same.
