Don't suppose anyone has a 9.8 short shaft they would like to sell? the kids have seem to have grown alarmingly and my trusty old Yamaha Malta is struggling to push the inflatable along with five adult sized people in it. Anything in reasonably usable condition would be fine as we don't use it very often.

This is the most sought after engine for Sibbers. They are like hens teeth to find. I just bought one but looked at gum tree and ebay everyday for about 2 months. Ecpect to pay about £800-£1000

My 9.8 Tohatsu has suffered from severe corrosion to such an extent that it is no longer operational but (CLB) I would be interested in buying your motor because I might be able to make a good complete outboard from your motor & mine. On a related topic I bought a new Suzuki 6HP (2017 latest model) to replace the Tohatsu & the Suzuki is heavier, bulkier, vibrates horribly and provides lousy performance-so much for progress!

By contrast, my 9.8 Tohatsu has been absolutely faultess, is very easy to handle due the light weight, and provides enough grunt to get my little 2.7m tender hilariously planing with 2 builder-sized blokes in it...

That is why these motors are so sought after by sibbers. Took me 2 months + to find one. Going sort of across the tide I got 21 mph out of my 3.2 m tender with blow up keel and Ali floor. As you say great fun

Jimmy - does the 9.8T fit the T40 garage on the standard 2.7 rib ok? Am looking for bigger unit compared to present 4stroke 2.3 Honda.
Cheers, Simon
