Just ordered a Tohatsu 4 stroke 6hp saildrive. The dealer told me that it would come without any oil in it, due to the courier.

He did tell me what grade oil it would need but I didn't write it down.

So what's the best oil for the job.

Any dealer should be able to supply you with running-in oil. It's worth it.

Any brand of oil that meets the specification of API GL5 SAE 80 or 90 weight will work for oil used after the running-in change. You can find suitable oil at your local marine dealer or car store.
