Todd Tuna - Any Info

I guess that is the one that Dean was telling me about when he was working on mine.

I will ask around the yard and see if anyone know any more about them. There is a Todd Tuna a couple of boats away from me. That assuming that our ones are not a tuna!!

This is goin me little Welsh head in
Now then
Snot a Todd tuna/ mackerel/ sprat/ friggen kipper!
Now there was a Todd Tornado, which was/is more similar

Plus a Colvic Traveller is more to the Picture
But they where 28 footers
Plus the 'chines' were less 'pronounced'
However apart from that
She/ They look like Colvics
Wish I could find me old Colvic catalogue!

I can do better than that....Father in Law brews his own Chipero (sp?) That does your bloody head in I can tell you

Tis crazy when you think about it. All the knowledgeable people on this forum and yet we can't find the make of this boat....Tis a mystery!

Tod Tuna

Now this is a Tod Tuna. The Tornado was its bigger brother/sister and had success also in the round Britain powerboat race.
My Pop used to work for W&J Tod.

Hi Paul, Just noticed your thread. My Tod Tuna is out of the water for anti foul and a few minor repairs at a yard up the Hamble. I've researched it a bit but I'm still hungry for more info if poss? I haven't yet used it in anger.
It's got a 75/78 tdi Perkins in it and I'd love to know if that should get it on the plane although it's carrying a bit of extra baggage inc. a wood burner!!! Also there are two corresponding round holes at the bottom of the bilge keels which are a mystery. They're about 30mm in diameter. The keels look as though they are Hardwood and all I can guess is that they may have a steel core and the holes used to house anodes.Be very grateful for any clues, thanks,Graham.

Hi Alan,
I must admit looking at photos I've found on the Internet I was starting to have my doubts, as you mention they all tend to have rounded top sections.
From speaking with a chap from a motor boat club who knew the other boat and the fact that she's called Tuna I thought she might be a Todd Tuna, but it looks like it's back to the drawing board.
We've been through one round of "What's my boat?" before on the forum but I thought I might have stuck lucky today.

Oh well, I may be able to track down the previous owner before my father on my next visit back to the UK so I may pick up the trail again.

Thanks again,

Simon.

Hi, I concur with my learned friends. Definitely not a Todd Tuna... I had one until 4 years ago, now lies at Kemp's in Southampton. I went on to a Colvic Watson 26 M/Sailer which unfortunately I've got to sell now. Lovely roomy boat with aft cabin. Shame but hey ho. Anyone?

Hi, Mine was def. a Todd Tuna, his was totally different. I did some research when I bought it and got all the stuff about W&J Todd, old photos, the power boat race for it's larger sister etc. A previous owner had even fitted a wood burner in it.
