Metcheck are offering me 14mph winds with gusts to 17mph for 10.00am.

XC Weather offering 26kts. Met Office Inshore F8 decreasing to 6-7, then 5-4 later.

Polruan (admittedly it's outside Fowey about 25 miles away) has had 50kts gusts and steady 40kts.

The age-old question - "It's just a "forecast" but how are you supposed, as an amateur boater, to learn which one to trust?

Outside the house (facing Mounts Bay) it's blowing a hooligan and a bit damp! So, for this one, it seems to be the Met Office is closest.

XC Weather up to late yesterday were forecasting winds far less than we have today.

XC have been pretty accurate for Stonehaven. Met said SE (F-I ain't going out) and XC said up to 20 knots. Turns out it's a bit less. I could have gone.

On the way here, the Metoffice said SW, we got a solid SE. I just don't trust them. Tesco don't trust them, the public are getting sick of them.

What the hell is going on at the metoffice? Why are they suddenly being so rubbish? If they have a problem then they should fess up, because it's getting dangerous.
