Today's gale

Re: Today\'s gale

Our top gust was 51mph, but it's settled down now.
My little boat has been very steady (it's the grey one to the right)

Others have been a bit more lively

Re: Today\'s gale

Actually it's Kiel. In Finland we don't speak so much of sailing capabilities of Bavarias rather they have a name Yak-boat, who knows what it means ? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Today\'s gale

You have a nice attitude towards Lakesailor. Are the people sailing on lakes abusing their boats on drinking water ? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
I have to admit I've seen some very nice photoes shown by him and I don't mean Ladies in Chains.

Re: Today\'s gale

Well you know what you like. I don't have any poor opinions about Bavarias, apart from the fact they have a reputation for losing their keels. But having said that, and judging by what I have seen on the lake, Beneteaus are less stable, so I can't claim to be an expert, other than to say that any boat that keeps going where I want it to in a squall is OK by me.

Re: Today\'s gale

I might be wrong but that Sonata should have a mooring buoy on the pennant - it would ride much easier in such conditions.

BTW
It was gusting F11 here at Sheerness around 13.00. Only blowing Westerly F2 now.

Peter.

Re: Today\'s gale

Oiiii, gimme my bora back!!!! Here in Trieste we've got fog, and it's been like this for days. Ugh! We're used to having winds at 150 kph. How about a swap? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Re: Today\'s gale

It does have (it's a Europa), but the guy has put his strops on the top eye instead of shackling them to the riser. I mentioned it but you can't help some people. He's only been down a couple of times in over a year and still hasn't replaced the missing pintles.
