Today's Cowes weather

Just spent an hour hosing Saharan sand off of and out of every crevice on my boat Grrr !
Not all bad though, the guy next to me in the yard spent all day yesterday cleaning the decks of his S&S Swan 47, it sadly looks a bit of a mess now but I still covet it...

Thank you. I wondered where that red stuff coating my decks this morning had come from. I've got a couple of areas in my scuppers that don't fully drain and a lot of the desert has accumulated there.

I was in Cowes last night and sailed back to Gosport this morning. Even my glasses were covered in red dust.

Ahh, so that's what it was. Our car was parked in a crematorium car park yesterday, so I I was hoping it wasn't WHO it was!

It’s just so you can imagine you are in Tenerife where they really know how to do the red sand treatment. It’s not just confined to Gosport though as spotted here up north in Ashtead over the car but the rain seems to have arrived as well to wash away.

We, in 'upper Cowes', AKA Island Harbour, had the heavy rain but no sign yet of dust on the decks, though the sky was a pretty orange colour a around sunset.

The alps got a good dusting of the stuff too. Snow is all pink

When we lived in Florida the local carwash franchise had a deal that if it rained within 48hrs they gave you a free one. in 5 years only once did I need one
