Toast

I agree that toast is essential which was an important consideration in our decision to buy a decent cooker with a grill which was not an Origo.
 
I use an old ordinary frying pan: heat it on the stove top, place bread in pan, wait a couple of minutes until toast smell starts, then flip and do the other side. Repeat as required. Don’t use a non stick pan as it’ll ruin the non stick surface.

Just be aware that the A’s the pan gets hotter the toast cooks faster..... and the pan gets very hot, so careful with it after use.
 
I like the dry frying pan approach. Often means you can stretch the life of sliced bread a few extra days on longer passages of a couple pf weeks.
