Not sure. It came with the boat and is now 17 years old. Our sprayhood frame is 1” stainless steel. The plastics are milky and the canvas is getting thin, so we’ll be having a new one made soon.

Zipping up the centre piece makes no difference to the overall stability of the spray hood. It’s wonderful in hot weather in the UK, whether sailing or at anchor. Ensures a nice cool breeze through the cockpit.

We have covers poppered on our hood windows. Sometimes I can't be bothered to take the covers off, but I'm glad I can for all the reasons above.

When up, the area immediately under the windows can be a useful place to dry beach towels etc when it's too windy to leave them pegged out somewhere. Wouldn't work as well if the sun couldn't shine through them.
