Got to Penton Hook at about 9pm that evening. The next day we headed off to have lunch at Hampton Court before returning to Penton Hook Saturday evening.

I believe the estate agent described it as ‘charming property with direct access to the river’!

The first picture in your second post is David Garrick's Temple to Shakespeare.

And you're right, the wonderful "houseboat" is Dave Gilmore's sound studio.

Looked out for you at Penton but didn't see you. Whereabouts did you moor? Did you find somewhere good to eat at HC?

we moored the first night on M pontoon, but on the second night we were on E pontoon as there was an empty space next to some people who used to moor at Bray.

We ended up walking down bridge street for somewhere to eat and ended up in here:

a lebanesse restauarant which has only been open for a few weeks (got chatting to the staff). It was superb! as we were hungry we went for their 'celebration' mezze at £23 per person, which was huge - loads of different foods. Would recommend this to anyone who is down that way. Great atmosphere in there, very chatty and friendly staff - they even gave us dessert on the house.

Somewhere new to try :). I do enjoy a good Mezze.

Long standing members here might remember Louis in East Molesey which was a Greek restaurant. They always did a great Mezze and was very surprised when it closed.
