I have traditionally laid decks, no ply underneath, so where the leak appears is generally not too far from source. Although round the doghouse is proving a problem. I have one over my bunk that comes through a screw hole in a mahogany fashion piece. I need to get that off and determine whether the leak is from the joint between the doghouse and carlin, or the deck side of the carlin. I suspect the doghouse side...

Stern post bolts (3) seem to stop weeping rust as long as I keep lots of anodes on. I suspect those, and the doghouse, and the covering board screws (steel) will require another 6 months in the yard at home, but not for another 3-4 years.

More saving required to deal with the keel bolts....

Install all the new nav instruments, plotter etc.
Unwrap and put in position the new upholstery from EastCoastBernie.
And a few other things beside.

Then launch and enjoy the summer.

Do you make Boom tents? Another person with my type of boat (see we did sell some!!) had a 'boom tent' made which clipped on the gaurdrails, went over the boom and clipped on the other side gaurdrails. He said it works very well when cruising in rainy conditions. Would that sort of thing be expensive for a 2.8 metre boom?

Brought mine home a couple of days ago as well. Lost count how many times I have done this now. Most of it remains in tact, but one or two patches always seem to come through. The last varnish (Sikkens) faired rather better than last (seems tougher and less prone to donks), but may try a two part this year. Is there an inherent problem with veneered wood, and is there a better answer?

Like the new Sea feather. Did you have to re-make the brackets or did it all pretty much fit?

Presumably it came off a boat with a bigger transom as the water lines don't look like they match up - although can't see any reason why this would create any problems.

Bet you are looking forward to play with it now!

Was expecting to have to have the bracket adapted but didn't need to. It came from a chap with a Seamaster 925 but looks virtually unused. Agree the waterline on the paddle is too low but for this year I don't intend to do anything about it, just see how it goes.

Lots of other jobs to do before go back into the water but WILL be afloat for Easter if not before and trying out the sea feather then.

Lift and rebed all deck fittings / genoa track (which seems to need removing half the galley to get at the nuts inside!

[/ QUOTE ] Work in progress. Port genoa track done but it did need part of the boat dismantled. Starboard will be worse. Other than a couple of bolts showing a bit of corrosion the majority on port were fine so as there are 20 on each track I think I will just remove the ones I can get at. Should be well over half and will keep fingers crossed on rest.

Work is coming along nicely - has been bitter though working on boat last couple of weekends but worth it.
