Just done mine Vic

[/ QUOTE ] Pleased to hear it! I already reported that I had done mine, see
http://www.ybw.com/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/1277579/an/0/page/1#1277579 But you knew that!
I take it you did not have the same difficulty in discovering the way forward from the last page of the form that I and Eauzone had (or did my comments help) and that you sorted out the log in name problem.

Clearly I should not have started a new thread when I did /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The only other website I have come across so bad was the Family Tax Credit one - I gave up on that in the end and did it by paper. What is it about government IT?

My username turned out not to be the one I registered, my full christian name and surname all one word, it turned out to be the initial of my first name in uppercase followed by my surname in lower case.

I entered all the required fields (or so I thought) got through to the end and then it told me I had left out a compulsory field (Gross Tonnage!) which I could only get back to by going a page at a time and then forward to the end again a page at a time. It then seemed I had nowhere else to go apart from save, no submit or apply button . So I saved, reopened and then it gave me the option of activating and there it was done.

The only other problem was downloading it. It is not IE friendly as it wouldn't even download when I clicked on allow on the explorer bar, I had to go in and change the security settings to custom before it was allowed.

Your password is what you chose. It HAS to be a mixture of uppercase, lowercase and numerals. Your user name is what Ofcom tell you in the letter they sent. They just dont really identify it all that clearly in the letter. Initial and surname all in one sounds right but I have found that it is not case sensitive at all.

Likewise I left out the gross tonnage no excuse really as it is marked with an asterisk, except that they don't actually say that fields so marked are mandatory, but it is the normal practice. I put in the displacement as I think that is in the notes that go with the postal application. I think if you had "saved the details" you would not have had to start again from scratch though.

Yes I found the "save application" button was the wayforward from the last page ........... eventually! I did not have any problems downloading and printing it so your problems must have been due to your security settings. I actually saved mine first and printed it later. That means I have it saved on my computer and can print another one if required without revisiting the Ofcom site. I have in fact printed an A5 version to keep on board.

I e-mailed my comments to Ofcom!
