To buy or not to buy that is the question.

1. A low offer may work at this time of year - worth a try.

2. I would advise having at least a hull and deck structural survey and sea trial carried out (mind you I would advise this as I am a surveyor!). The Targas that I have looked at have been good structurally but you never know until you look at the bottom. H+D survey with a sea trial would cost approximately £350 + VAT.

3. A dirty bottom could easily cause this loss of performance. But another poster has also indicated that this boat has never been properly "exercised" and as such the turbocharger may be a little sticky.

4. So - get the boat lifted and pressure washed, hull and deck structural survey (with a look at the sterndrive included) followed by a sea trial and see how she goes.

5. PM me if you would like details of our Survey office in Totnes

I hope this helps

Thanks to all those who replied, your advice was much appreciated.
We've withdrawn from this purchase - head ruling heart - boo hoo !!
We only bought our current boat 12 months ago and to now rush into spending a much larger sum on another one seemed to be too self indulgent. Not to mention a bit wallet emptying.(smile)
Hopefully, we will return to the Targa marketplace in 12-18months time.
Thanks again,
John

If its any help, my 27 has been as low as 24K when badly fouled, and straight back to 31k after a lift out and pressure wash.

I have a single KAD 43.
