To Boot Top Or Not!

Well near 2 days later I have finally finished putting 4 coats of Jotun Seaqueen on and 4 coats of International something boot top. Hell of a job but but getting high on it all helps :D

It now looks really good just like the picture - shame it won't look like that in a few weeks but hey I shouldn't need to anti-foul again for a couple of years according to Jotun, said put 3-4 layers on...

I did the boot top by cutting the roller width down so that it didn't go over the masking tape.

Cold, knackered, stink and hungry, slept on the boat last night, it's warmer than the blimmen house! Got a lot of jobs done though and only the sails to put on and de-winterize engine and she'll be in before Easter :)

Erodable antifoul is hygroscopic and wicks up water. If you paint a yacht finish over the top edge of the antifoul, the anitifoul will introduce water behind the paint film and you'll get that rash of small blisters lifting the paint. If you paint the hull down to the water line properly and then bring the antifoul up to and slightly over the paint finish it won't compromise the adhesion.
Oh, I didn't know that, thanks,

Boo2

I'm thinking of applying a bright red boot top TAPE over the not-very-impressive join of my white topsides and newly-painted black antifoul. Any advice?
