To antifoul or not

Thanks, I had to find a photo to know what Puffin is. Very pretty. Actually I'm focussed on finding (or creating) the world's smallest motorsailer, to improve the value of ownership by being equally tempting to go out on wet February days like today...

...it's not so easy, finding a pocket centreboard cruiser with an optional indoor helm. But I'm working on it. ;)

I find the idea of a mooring-bag extremely tempting, even if my tight-fisted inclination would be to DIY it.

For the very small lifting-keel hulls I'm thinking of, it seems (to me) easy and ideal to separate the flattish hull from the dense mud which so many Solent boats rest in daily.

I'd incorporate a central sump with a hose so the brine could be pumped out...then a few gallons of fresh from the pontoon hose, on its own would discourage saltwater life from clinging on. If it's stubborn, a bit of bleach would keep most life off the hull for a long time while unattended.

Having seen unbelievable growth - great half-melon-size masses of barnacles under small hulls in the Itchen and elsewhere, I'm surprised bagging isn't more popular.
