TMD40 dipstick markings

Maybe an odd question.
Can anyone give me an idea how many litres it would take to fill from the bottom of the "hatched" area on the engine oil dipstick to the top?
I would like to have some idea so as to reduce the risk of overfilling.

I don't know exactly what the range is, but have always assumed it to be around 1.5 litres - I have TAMD40s which are the same base engine. If you add less than that, you can always add more. I run mine mid way between the marks.
