Another post I'm afraid, a few problems this weekend.

Fitted a new TMC toilet twelve months ago, now liquid leaking from the pump shaft of the toilet and also liquid seems to be leaking onto the heads floor from the toilet. Any suggestions??

Predictably - My neighbour has one - invention of the devil, wish he had my Lavac - 15 years and not a problem.

Anyway to your infernal thing. Which one is it? My neighbour's one is the basic electric version. Things to leak on that are the place where the inlet pipe enters the bowl, the motor to bowl joint or the exit pipe elbow (or of course inlt and exit pipes on motor/elbow). The motor/bowl joint has a thin moulded rubber gasket, the exit pipe elbow has combined rubber valve/gasket. Both of those are retained by screws or bolts which I guess could work loose. The water inlet to the bowl on my neighbour's boat is so b**gered that it is all wodged together with mastic.

Have a look at this australian site for exploded diagrams - you'll need to scroll through.

The whole thing does come apart pretty easily - handy really gven the number of times I've taken the something thing apart. If you remove the motor make sure that the plastic cowl that goes into the bottom of the bowl goes back in the right place or the bowl won't evacuate. There is an opening in the plastic cowl that needs to be facing the exit pipe elbow.

If you unscrew the nut below the pump handle you will find (if it is the same as mine) that there is some plumbers wadding which you can lift out with a screwdriver or similiar instrument. I've found that it is worth now dripping some 3 in 1 oil in here to make the piston action smoother, anyway to stop the leak I've found that adding some more grease on the wadding before you replace it helps.
