Anyone used one of these? Just fitted and it appears not to turn off. We're sitting having a think about what we could possibly have done wrong, but if anyone has had this problem before, it would be good to know!

Can't get a picture up, but if you know them, they're black with a round switch, little red button that needs to be pressed before turning. Hesitate to mention it, but it's a one two both.

Difficult to imagine what you have done wrong

One battery +ve to the terminal marked "battery 1"

The other to the terminal marked "battery 2"

All loads to the terminal marked "common"

All negatives connected together.

What else do you have connected directly to to the batteries or to the terminals 1 & 2?

Hi Vic, we've got one battery to one side, a parallel pair to the other, one heavy cable to engine and a light one to +ve busbar, both connected to the common in the centre.

We're just finishing an epic commissioning with new engine and everything else and have made an average number of blunders, so all is possible...

That sounds right but if the light cable is the one visible in the picture It is very small if there going to be much load on it and I hope it does not go far before there's a fuse in it

If there is no other wiring that you are not telling about then perhaps the switch is faulty

Switch was wrongly assembled. And neither of the two people who should have thought of it tried turning it to 'both' - which would have been 'off'. Owner now better informed on wire sizing, but I suspect it will be the same next time I'm here!
