Well it's one way of getting rid of these bl***y things!
I just wonder if the guy had pi**ed off the robbers when he was riding it round in the crowded waters "daun sauff".

this reminds me of when i was in japan reading a story in the english edition of japan times (as you do). Actually two stories. one reported a speech by warren christopher (then clinton's sec of state) in China extolling the virtues of the USA way of life and the other about two japanese students who had been shot in their car by carjackers in San Francisco. There is no equivalent word in japanese to carjack and it was thought that when the thugs approached their car shouting "this is a carjack", the two japanese just looked quizzical and smiled ....
