Tiree moorings

I'll report back on the Tiree moorings if I stop in past next week.

Thanks. I'm hoping to get out there this year, but it looks as if this summer's trip will have to be 2 x two weeks rather than 1 x 4 weeks, which constrains things a bit Maybe the people at Arisaig will have a mooring free where I can leave the boat for a week or three.

Can you have "several alternative"s ?

Technically, and in the view of my S2 English teacher, no you can't. From the Latin alternatus: do one thing and then do another, do by turns. However, I think the alternative usage is so well established that it isn't very uniquely wrong.

Has anyone come up with an update to the moorings in Gott Bay...... busy making plans for next season.

Gott bay is a wide sandy bay. If the conditions are suitable for the bay, why not just anchor? I can see an argument in favour of moorings where it is difficult to anchor, like Tobermory for instance, but in some places moorings are just cluttering up the seabed with unnecessary junk. Some local communities are seeing moorings as a convenient way of separating yacht owners from their money.
